By FreshSocial 13 Apr 2017

Dying for some time away after dealing with exam stress, but need something cheap? You're in the right place.

fun summer summer break its finally summer GIF

There are plenty of different places you could be visiting this summer that don't involve either splashing the cash, having to forfeit numerous nights out or raid Bank of Mum and Dad.

Whether you want to catch a tan or explore the culture of a new city, there should be something up your street with these:

  1. Amsterdam
The city is most-known for the coffee shops but if you don't fancy that you can do plenty of other things, ie walk around taking plenty Insta-worthy pics. When the sun goes down, enjoy the crazy nightlife Amsterdam has to offer. Check out HostelWorld for a cheap place to stay.
  2. Barcelona
Want to get a tan this summer? Head to Barcelona. The city is always buzzing but if you're on a budget there is still going on. Go to Sangra Familia or see the street performers on Las Ramblas. And not many cities have a beach in the middle of them! Check out OnTheBeach for some deals - flights start from only £60.
  3. Glamping
Not the traditional 'camping in a field' type? Then try glamping instead - their pods have mattresses and heaters (cosy!), so a nice place to relax with mates or enjoy a romantic weekend away. Check out The Little Hide in York who have prices much lower than hotels in the city.
  4. Budapest
The historic city has lots to offer whether you want a few days away or a couple of weeks. You must visit one of the baths, maybe the outdoor Széchenyi Baths to really relax - it'll only set you back equivalent to £15. If you book a room with Airbnb it'll cost next to nothing.
  5. Croatia
Croatia is home to lots of music festivals in different cities. This year there is Outlook, Fresh Island, Hideout Festival and more that attract big names! The festival tickets can come with big price tags so check Skyscanner for cheap flights so that you've got a bit more spending money.
  6. Newquay
This trip will cost next to nothing, and it's perfect if you want to chill out on a choice of 12 beaches! Maybe do some surfing and have a bbq. Unleash your inner child by heading to theme park Flambards which would be fun if you get a group together!
  7. Berlin
Not only will you get a ridiculous amount of edgy photos for Snapchat and Instagram, you will experience the really cool culture. There are lots of things to get up to - you could go to Mauerpark for the flea market for some vintage bargains, walk the Berlin Wall or rent a bike and be your own tour guide.
  8. Dublin
The city has some very pretty sights so make sure that you wander around and take all that in. For a great day out, head to Dublin Zoo and the nightlife is amazing - there are more than enough pints of Guinness to go around! Head to the brewery too if you get a chance.
  9. Prague
Prague is known for great architecture and great beer and there are plenty of bars where you can have a pin! One of the best-known bars is BeerGeek and with 32 different taps to choose from you'll be spoilt for choice! TravelZoo has cheap deals for package holidays.
  10. UK Staycation

Whether you’re looking for an escape from the daily grind, or just fancy exploring a new city for a few weeks there’s a lot to be said for the humble Staycation. With no airport delays, exchange rate stress or language barriers to worry about, you just need to jump on the train or bus and let the adventures begin!

Plus you can 'staycation' with Fresh over summer. You could explore some of best locations in the UK, and instead of going to an empty hotel room – head to one of our homes away from home!

    Have an amazing summer!
