Graduation day is easily one of the proudest moments of your life, ever.
On the big day, you'll have a very short but amazing appearance on stage. Your mum, dad, siblings and rest of the family will also want to take a million and one pictures so, you need to be camera ready.
You might have spent three (or more) years at university in your favourite sweatpants and hoodies but now is the time to pull your best outfit out of the bag!
Start thinking about what you'll wear under your gown because graduation day will be here before you know it:
1. Choose something smart.
Pretty obvious but if you aren't in your smartest gear then you'll stand out like a sore thumb. Girls should invest in a formal (or smart casual) dress maybe even something summery. Guys should wear a nice new suit or their favourite one. Scotsmen - kilts at the ready...
2. Choose something comfortable.
You might be stood around for a while waiting for your ceremony or even just waiting to go for your celebratory meal afterwards. It's fine to treat yourself to some new shoes, but consider wearing them in first because having nasty blisters won't do you any favours.
3. Choose something weather appropriate.
With most graduations happening in July and August, you'd hope that the weather will be on your side! If the sun is out, don't wear too many layers or a thick material because you'll probably spend most of the day sweating - not ok. Don't forget your best sunglasses too, obvs.
4. Choose something you can wear again.
It's best to choose something that's smart but also can be worn again whether it's for a wedding, a birthday party or even a night out. You don't want it to be a complete waste of money and just be stuck in the wardrobe collecting dust. That's why you'll want something affordable too.
5. Choose something timeless.
There's nothing worse than looking back on your graduation pictures and cringing at what you're wearing! Yes, you might want to wear a fashionable ruffled dress or a paisley shirt but will that look a bit odd when you post your #throwback pictures in a few years? Probably. Something simple is best.
6. Get your hair groomed.
Guys, it's time to get a beard shape up so that you're Instagram-ready all day long! Make a trip to the barbers to get your trim done at the same time. Girls, book an appointment for a nice blow-dry and treat yourself to getting your eyebrows done too. It'll cost a bit extra but for the extra confidence, it's definitely worth it.
