Charity Week 2020

We are excited to announce our 4th annual Charity Week is soon approaching!

When is it?

Fresh’s Charity Week 2020 will be held between 2nd – 8th March.

What is it?

An entire week dedicated to raising awareness and money for our mental health charity partners, YoungMinds (UK) & Jigsaw (Ireland). This year we want to make it BIG, which is why we aim to raise more money and awareness than we ever have before.

How are you going to pull that off?!

We’re taking this week’s charity events to a company scale! Our employees, from Fresh’s head offices to Accommodation Teams, our residents and clients are all encouraged to take part in the fun to raise awareness and money!

Cool!… But what’s actually happening?

Across the week you can expect to find each of our accommodations and head offices throughout the UK and Ireland hosting a multitude of fundraising activities for you to get involved in, including our company-wide 10,000km challenge, with all proceeds going to YoungMinds & Jigsaw.

  1. Our company-wide activity: The 10,000km Challenge

We’re asking everyone to get involved in this one, yes – that’s including you! Help clock up our kilometres by running, cycling, swimming, rowing or walking to reach our biggest target of 10,000km for mental health.

We’re even having exercise bikes installed in our corporate offices for the week for our employees to jump on – so there’s no excuses not to break a sweat for charity during those tea breaks!

 How can I get involved?

It’s simple! All you need is set up a STRAVA account, join our club and you’re set to get exercising. Add you km’s to our company club to help get those numbers up! Speak to your Accommodation Team or see here for our quick How to Strava guide!

Remember: only the meters you complete during the 2nd – 8th March will count towards our final total! So, no cheating by getting in extra kilometres before or after.
  1. Accommodation activities:

There’s plenty to do right at home! Each of our student accommodations will be holding fundraisers including Krispy Kreme Sales, Wheel of Fortune, Penny Drops, Quizzes and Competitions!

How can I get involved?

Speak to your Accommodation Team to find out what’s going and when. Check out the posters displayed around your accommodation and have a look on social media for updates!

  1. Make a big difference with a small donation:

Head over to our charity pages and make a donation to either our UK charity partner YoungMinds via our JustGiving page or our Irish charity partner Jigsaw via our EveryDayHero page.

We’re looking forward to getting stuck in and sharing the amazing fundraising activities our staff and students get up to, to raise money for a cause close to our heart (and heads), mental health.

Keep an eye on our social media @FreshStudentLiv to see what we’re getting up to all week long. If you take part, don’t forget to share your activities using #CharityWeek2020
