Whilst this year may look a little different for students, at Fresh you can expect the same great level of service and welcome when you book with us. With the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic we are working hard to prepare for your arrival. See below some of the things we’re getting ready in time for September.
How we are preparing for social distancing
Social distancing has become the new normal. As such we have been working behind the scenes preparing our buildings for September to ensure residents keep the required distance apart at all times in keeping with the latest government guidelines.
From when you arrive at your student accommodation we will have Perspex screens in place at reception and Covid-19 signage displayed throughout the building and common areas to aid social distancing amongst residents and staff.
Increased cleaning regimes
Hygiene and cleanliness is the upmost importance to us. We advise residents and staff to frequently wash their hands for a minimum of 20 seconds every time they leave or return to the building.
Currently, we have cleaning teams in place who are disinfecting regularly on all high traffic points, such as door handles bannisters and communal areas, and our staff are undertaking specific Covid-19 cleaning and disinfection training to help reduce the risk of the infection spreading throughout the building. We are also preparing for our residents to have readily available personal protective equipment and sanitisers in specific Covid-19 vending machines where space is available.
What will the social spaces look like?
We have some pretty cool social spaces at many of our buildings for you to study, meet new friends and chill out, however, we are working on getting them ready for your arrival in line with government guidance. We’re also putting together a range of virtual events and outdoor socials for you to meet your new flatmates and neighbours!
When the time comes for you to check-in we have devised a pre-check-in plan to you keep as safe as possible. We will ensure that where possible the checking-in of residents will be spread over a number of days. All information needed for your check-in will be provided in the welcome packs before you arrive. Keys will also be left securely on the reception desk beforehand to allow residents to go directly to their room and complete check-in as safely as possible.
Health and wellbeing of our residents
Looking after our students’ mental health and wellbeing is our number one goal. The stress of being away from your home and loved ones, and pressures of everyday life can be overwhelming at times.
Our on-site Accommodation Managers have an open door policy for students needing support. They have also undertaken mental health first aid training and will be able to support and direct those affected at the time of crisis. If any of our residents faced illness or grievance, the team will undertake welfare checks of those residents that have made us aware of their circumstances.
Can I book for September?
Yes, and whilst we appreciate you may not be able to attend a viewing in person, we can arrange virtual viewings at a time that suits you! One of our team will take you on a bespoke personal virtual tour of the building, and be able to answer any questions you have on what it’s like to live there! Just get in touch with the Accommodation Team of your chosen location to book. Many of our locations also have 360 degree virtual video tours – take a look at the “Gallery” on the page of your chosen location for more information. We also have our 24/7 smart online booking system which can find the perfect room for you at any time, no matter what the time difference.
Many of our schemes have put a flexible booking policy in place too – take a look at the Booking Info page for your chosen location to find out more!
For more information, we have published our Covid-19 promise which you can find on our website.
